Welder's Assistant: Certificate of Achievement
The Welder's Assistant Certificate of Achievement prepares the student for entry-level work in a welding operation as a welder's assistant. Required courses are applicable toward the Welding AS degree, Welding Technician Basic, and Welding Technology certificates.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Identify hazards and apply safety procedures for SMAW, GMAW, OFC, and PAC equipment.
- Demonstrate intermediate welding techniques in SMAW and GMAW (1G–2G, fillet and groove welds).
- Accurately interpret and apply blueprints and welding symbols to fabrication projects.
