LRNS-1 0.5 Units Differential Learning Diagnosis

18 hours activity; 18 hours total

Through diagnostic assessment, observation, and assignments, students are made aware of their learning strengths and weaknesses and their preferred learning style. Students are given assistance in arranging their instructional program so that opportunities for success are optimalized. Before enrollment, student must meet with Learning Specialist. P/NP grading system.

LRNS-60 3 Units Study and Test-Taking Techniques

54 hours lecture; 54 hours total

Prerequisite: Minimum of Category 2 score on English placement test, or assessment by the instructor.

Students will learn skills necessary for success in college such as: reading textbooks; taking lecture notes; studying; taking tests; managing time; becoming familiar with the college resources; and reducing test anxiety. Grading for this class is Pass/No Pass Credit. This class is recommended for students with at least a score in Category 2 in reading.
